Keep Opelika  Beautiful’s little red caboose proudly sits at the Opelika Depot. Opelika has always been considered a “railroad town” and it only seemed fitting for a retired Norfolk Southern caboose rest in our city. The backdrop for many pictures, the exterior of the caboose has been renovated through generous donations of Charter Foundation, local residents, fundraisers and grants. The colors are the true Norfolk Southern “safety yellow” and “safety red”. The caboose renovations are complete. Contact the Keep Opelika Beautiful office for a tour.
